Before I came here, I did not know what to expect. I was very nervous about everything. But all my worries were gone after the very first day of my volunteering because the children I worked with were just wonderful. They were so happy to see and have us, volunteers, and they made me feel so loved. I worked in the Casa de Bebes every morning. The children were very cute and they loved sitting on my lap. The mamas at the Casa de Bebes were also great. In the afternoon, I worked at the CASA project where children come everyday after school to receive help with homework. The children at CASA project had the most love able personality. I wanted to help people and that is why I worked with Expand Peru, but I realized that people here have helped me more than I have helped them. People here are just wonderful and very warm-hearted. I learned a lot from them. Bernabe and Ingrid, thank you very much for these great experiences. I wish the best luck for the future of all those lovely children and their families. |
